The ancient pollarded oaks of Staverton Park are perhaps best seen in winter, the season when their hoary, twisted magnificence is revealed in all its glory. Unfortunantly, only one footpath gives access to the site, skirting the northern fringe of the woodland. However, this still provides a great way to appreciate this wonderful place, while also ensuring its wildlife and mysterious atmosphere remain undisturbed.
Staverton Park is one of the finest remaining examples of medieval wood pasture in the UK.
