Perhaps even more than my Orange Tip picture, this image emphasises how important modern equipment can be to successfully capturing photographs of active insects. This butterfly was feeding busily, moving quickly from flower to flower. The fleeting moment when this picture was taken was perhaps a few seconds at best. Quick autofocusing and subtle fill-in flash allowed a very natural effect to be achieved.
